About Gil Oved: Gil co-founded The Creative Counsel (TCC) with high school friend Ran Neu-Ner in 2001. What started as a two-man band doing promotions has grown into South Africa’s largest agency group.
Gil is a board member on South Africa’s second biggest venture capital tech fund, Grotech, which gives him insight into the country’s most exciting venture capital companies. He was also GQ’s 2014 Best Dressed Man.
Gil pursues excellence in everything he does and this has earned him many accolades as a businessman and entrepreneur. In 2016, he and Ran were pronounced exceptional entrepreneurs at the 2016 EY Southern Africa World Entrepreneur Award™.
He was recently one of the Sharks on ‘Shark Tank South Africa’. Previously he was one of the Dragons on ‘Dragons’ Den South Africa’ and co-authored the book; ‘I’m In’ with the other four Dragons.
He is the Johannesburg Chapter Chair for the global Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO) and the Regional Forum Officer for Africa. Gil is passionate about mentoring and growing entrepreneurship on the continent.
